  • Health Problems

The Belgian tervurens may experience problems with their joints and eyes as well as a variety of cancers. Some may also suffer from allergies, most specifically skin irritations.
  • Sports or Activities

Belgian tervurens are commonly used in herding of livestock. They are intelligent and trainable, which makes them prime candidates for police and guide dogs. They can be kept as family pets, but do require daily exercise and proper discipline. Tervurens that are not sufficiently exercised or disciplined may be destructive or aggressive, making them a poor choice for families with children.
