Early Years
Fleck recalls his interest in banjo being sparked when he heard Earl Scruggs play the theme for the Beverly Hillbillies television sitcom. He was given his first banjo at age fifteen by his grandfather.Last.fm: Bela Fleck Biography -
Career
Fleck recorded his first album with the band Tasty Licks. In 1979, he released his first solo, Crossing the Tracks. In 1981, Fleck played with two different bands, including Grass Revival.Last.fm: Bela Fleck Biography Fleck helped form the band Strength in Numbers in 1998. They recorded one album. Later that same year, he formed the Flecktones.
