Zach Condon
Condon has been releasing music since the age of 15, and previously recorded as "The Real People." He typically plays the trumpet or ukelele with Beirut, as a wrist injury makes playing the guitar painful and taxing.
After dropping out of high school at 16, Condon recorded a doo-wop album inspired by Frankie Lymon and a three-song EP credited to "1971."
Beirut Background
Condon formed Beirut in 2006, and released a debut album that year - Gulag Orkestar. Singles "Elephant Gun" and "Postcards from Italy" became popular with critics and on mp3 blogs. The follow-up album, 2007's The Flying Cup Club, was inspired by French pop music, with each track suggested by a different French city.
