Beef Stroganoff, a classic Russian dish is strips of lean beef sauteed and served in a sour cream sauce with onions and mushrooms, and usually served over a bed of egg noodles or rice. French fries is a side dish enjoy by many.
This Russian dish is a little work but worth it!

Directions
- In a large frying pan, add mushrooms and onions with 2 tablespoons of butter and cook on medium heat until tender. Remove from pan.
- Melt remaining butter in the same pan.
- Cook ground beef or steak in melted butter until browned.
- Mix in flour.
- Stir in beef broth and cook until slightly thickened.
- Add mushroom and onion mixture.
- Stir in sour cream.
- Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Continue cooking until sauce is hot, but not boiling.
- Serve sauce over egg noodles.
Beef Stroganoff History
Beef Stroganoff dates back to the 19 century, although not a new recipe at that time but an older version of an older Russian recipe. Beef Stroganoff Recipe
Chef Gus Tselios show in this video how to make Beef Stroganoff on the Food Network show Diners Drive-Ins and Dives show hosted by Guy Fieri. First boil the meat in water. In a another large pot add extra virgin olive oil, add chopped onions, fresh sliced mushrooms, minced garlic, bay leaves, saute down. Strain boiled meat add to saute mixture. Add a little wine, black pepper and salt. Add some water, tomato paste, paprika, let stew down for about 1 1/2 hours. Add sour cream and about 1/4 of bottle of worcestershire sauce and add heavy cream. The chef just goes by looks for most of the measurements. Serve on noodles. Enjoy!
