The trailer for Disney's Bedtime Stories was released on September 25, 2008. It opens with Adam Sandler's character, Skeeter, about to tell a story to his niece and nephew. Afterward, Skeeter is told that he has to watch the kids for a week while his sister tries to find a job. Each night he tells the kids a bedtime story starring "Skeetercus". As kids add to each story, the real life Skeeter finds the tales the seem to affect things that happen in his real life.

He tries to solve all of his and his families problems by using his stories to control the future. Things go awry, when the children decide that Skeetercus will bit hit by a fireball. Skeeter goes to Home Depot to buy a hose, watering can and flame retardant. He sprays a clerk and himself in the eyes.
