The Genesis version of the game is a side-scrolling action-adventure game. Players must defeat enemies and bosses by using items like tennis balls, guns, and a large stick. Players can jump over obstacles or hit them out of the way. There are also puzzle elements in the game where players can collect nickels to buy soda or food for health. Beavis and Butthead offer 20+ hours of gameplay.
