On August 13, 2008, Entertainment Weekly reported that former Beatle Paul McCartney visited Branson, Missouri, to meet with Louise Harrison. Harrison is the older sister of the late George Harrison, who was also a former Beatle. EW speculated that the meeting was in regards to a Beatles museum in Branson.http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2008/08/mccartney-in-br.html?xid=rss-hollywoodinsider-20080813-Paul%20McCartney%20in%20Branson%20%e2%80%94%20Beatles%20museum,%20perhaps%3f
Louise Harrison founded a Beatles tribute band called the Liverpool Legends. The band performs in Branson's Starlite Theatre. The theater was also the planned site for the Beatles museum. The Branson Daily News stated that the museum would open no later than March 2009, featuring "rare items" like handwritten letters by George Harrison.http://www.bransondailynews.com/story.php?storyID=8029
The museum, however, seems to have stalled. As of 2010, the Starlite Theatre, which was to be the venue for the museum, along with Next Level Entertainment, is "...very excited to announce Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy Award winner Righteous Brothers’ Bill Medley and his daughter, McKenna Medley to the Starlite Theatre. Spanning 5 decades of popular music and bringing a new level of entertainment to the Branson scene." There is no mention of the museum at that time.http://www.starlitetheatre.com/
