Beardsley Zoo is located at Bridgeport, Connecticut. The zoo is over 80 years old and is an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. It is open every day from 9-4 except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. The zoo is the only zoo in Connecticut. Some unique features of the zoo are a carousel, Victorian greenhouse and Hanson Exploration Station.
The zoo contains over 300 animals that represent ]]North]] and South America. Some species from outside this area are represented. Beardsley Zoo also is home to some endangered and threatened species including the Amur or Siberian tiger, Andean condor, Ocelot, Red wolf, Andean or Spectacled bear, Maned wolf and the Golden lion tamarin.

The zoo offers some kids activities including birthday parties, scavenger hunts, conservation facts, online image gallery and online animal facts.
