Lily is a 2-year-old black bear who is part of a study on the species by the North American Bear Council and the Wildlife Research Institute. The Black Bear Cam, an Infra red camera that equipped with a motion center, was set up by film-producer Doug Hajick. The camera streams color video during the day and black-and-white video at night when it's dark. The camera is triggered by movement. Doug Hajicek began filming a similar bear den in 1999. Lily's bear den sparked the curiosity of many because she was about to give birth to cubs in mid-January 2010. The live feed of the black bear den began broadcasting online, on the night of Friday, January 8, 2010. The Black Bear Den Webcam could be viewed on Bear.org or WildEarth.tv/web/wwbearden01.
