Beanie Wells Injury

Ohio State Buckeyes' star tailback and Heisman Trophy prospect Chris "Beanie" Wells was injured in a August 30, 2008, game against Youngstown State. The injury occurred during the third quarter when Wells took a handoff from Todd Boeckman but slipped on the astroturf and twisted his leg.

After missing three consecutive games, on September 22, 2008, Wells returned to the Buckeyes for the September 27, 2008, game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers.

Wells did not play in the September 6, 2008, game against Ohio University. On September 9, Tressel announced that Wells would be ready to play in the upcoming game against the USC Trojans, though on September 12 Tressel announced that Wells would not play.ESPN.com: Ohio State's Wells won't play...
