Former The Beach Boys member Al Jardine was ordered to pay current member Mike Love over $2 million in a lawsuit that settled on March 20, 2008. The money is to cover attorney's fees Love spent when suing Jardine for unlawful use of the Beach Boys name in 2003. In that case, it was ruled that Jardine violated copyright law for referencing the band when touring under names such as "Al Jardine of the Beach Boys."
