Baz Luhrmann is an Australian director, screenwriter and producer best known for his "Red Curtain Trilogy," which includes the films Strictly Ballroom, William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet and Moulin Rouge!. He choreographed a musical scene from the 2009 Oscars.

Luhrmann's first film in nearly seven years, Australia, was set for release in November 2008. Nicole Kidman stars as a British aristocrat who inherits a cattle station during World War II. When cattle barons threaten to take her land, she hires an Australian man (Hugh Jackman) to move the animals to safety.
