The Baylor Bears basketball team plays in the Big 12 Conference in the NCAA. The Bears play their home games in the Ferrell Center and have for more than twenty years. After finishing 25-7 in the Big 12 Conference, the Bears were seeded third in the Big 12 Tournament. They ended up beating Texas 86-67 before losing to the Kansas State Wildcats in round two. The Bears are lead by LaceDarius Dunn who averages 19.4 points per game along with 4.8 rebounds a game at guard. Even though they exited the Big 12 Tournament early, the Bears earned a 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Their first game is in the south region against number 14 seed Sam Houston St. on Thursday March 18th. The South region is full of talented teams such as Duke Blue Devils, the Villanova Wildcats, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Louisville Cardinals to name a few. The Baylor Bears have had some impressive wins during the 2009-2010 season. Key wins came against the Texas Longhorns, Oklahoma St. Cowboys, Xavier and Oklahoma. Having a 11-5 Conference record wasn’t that bad either. In 2010, the Baylor Bears were selected to the NCAA Tournament as the third seed in the South Regional Division. They played Sam Houston State in the first round and won by a score of 68 to 59.
