Bay To Breakers is a footrace and festival held in San Francisco on the third Sunday in May annually.
The race starts in the downtown area near the bay and ends at the Great Highway, where the breakers crash on the beach, hence the name.
The Party
The race has a festive atmosphere, complete with people dressed in all sorts of costumes and characters like Superman, Wonder Woman and other super hero's. There is live music with bands playing along the way, and the traditional tortilla toss.
