• Battlefield Heroes is a cartoon multiplayer shooter currently being developed by DICE. It will be released under Electronic Arts "Play 4 Free" system, which will make the game itself free and revenue drawn from in-game advertisements. The game will also feature an online shop where players can purchase optional content to customize their in-game avatar (but will not affect actual gameplay). It has been criticized due to similarities with Team Fortress 2, but the developers claim that it was in development before the final version of Team Fortress 2 was announced.

  • Gameplay

    Due to its cartoony nature, the combat and gameplay in Battlefield Heroes is meant to be light and humorous. Players select from one of three classes (Commando, Soldier and Gunner), and the game will then match the player with others comparable to his/her skill level. It will also feature an "Intelligent Spawn System", which will place players closer to battle, rather than on separate sides of the map.
