General Gameplay Tips
- When your character dies, the game does not reload the entire level. Instead, you will quick spawn at your last saved location without losing any progress. It also quick-spawn vehicles, if you were driving one during the last save. There is no penalty for death.
- Health sticks are completely unlimited. Don't hesitate to use one every time your health falls below 75%.
- There are two items to find in the single player campaign, gold bars and collectables. Gold bars are locked away in silver chests hidden in the game. The buildings that contain these chests are marked with the symbol of the Legionnaire.
- Collectables are guns that only have to be picked up to be unlocked, not carried for the rest of the mission. This also unlocks their use in multiplayer.
- If you get lost, look on the map for the triangle markings. They indicate upcoming checkpoints.
- On the map, Ammo boxes are marked by a row of bullets. Ammo boxes automatically load you up with ammo when in the close vicinity of one. Hang around an ammo box during a firefight to spam enemies with unlimited grenades or rockets.
- Also on the map, white X's mark weapons or special items. It could be a collectable gun, C4, a repair tool, a rocket launcher, a guidance targeting system, etc.
- Hit the Select button to skip any cutscenes between missions.
-
On Foot
- Frequently click and hold the Left Thumbstick to run with your character. Running often can evade infantry weapon fire as well as some small vehicles.
- Crouch behind cover objects to minimize your damage. Also try to crouch when lining up a sniper shot or steadying the light machine gun.
- When using a rocket launcher or targeting system on a fixed enemy tank, position yourself so you can see just a portion of the tank to line up the shot. This avoids death by tank shell.
- Search the bodies of dead enemies to trade weapons. Find an enemy that uses a shotgun for a close quarters fight in a village or perhaps an enemy with a sniper rifle to pick off enemies from a distance.
- The most powerful sniper rifles require a reload after every shot. Be sure to use cover effectively when picking off the enemy.
- The knife (press Y) is excellent for sneaking up to kill an enemy. It's also great for silently cutting wooden fence to make a path.
-
-
Vehicles
- Cycle in through the seats in a vehicle by pressing Y.
- When driving around, you can change the radio station by pressing left and right on the directional pad.
- Use the mounted machine guns and explosive shells from military vehicles to clear a path through dense forest cover. It will often drive out infantry hiding in the trees as well as clear the area for more accurate shots.
- Heavy tanks can drive directly through fences, bunkers and even houses. Gain an advantage on the enemy position by driving directly through a building rather than around it.
- Frequently deploy smoke in a heavy tank to escape a firefight or even to repair quickly. This will confuse the enemy and often cause them to completely lose accuracy for a moment when you return into view.
- The rockets on the helicopter are not heat seeking. You have to manually aim them by tilting the chopper forward.
