Just prior to the July 28, 2008 premiere of The Dark Knight, the direct-to-DVD Gotham Knight will be released, featuring six all new animated shorts. Each short will have its own distinct style and all are set in the time period between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.
The Batman: Gotham Knight shorts will be anime style, produced by four acclaimed Japanese studios: Madhouse, Studio 4ºC, Production I.G., and Bee Train, Inc. Kevin Conroy, beloved by many fans for his work in previous Batman animations, will be voicing batman in Gotham Knight.
The DVD will hit stores on July 8th, 2008 as a single disk or a two disk special edition, as well as a Blu-ray edition. A download-able version will also be available for purchase online, and the movie will be viewable through OnDemand or Pay Per View. Special features will include episodes of the animated Batman series and a preview of the DC Universe animated Wonder Woman movie.
