On April 15, 2008, singer Deborah Gibson filed a request for a restraining order against Bassas Jorge Puigdollers.
According to the request, Gibson claims that Puigdollers began coming backstage at her performances in 2002 and asking for autographs and interviews. She claimed this continued for the following six years.
On April 13, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. Gibson found a note under the door of her home in Los Angeles, California dated April 10. Puigdollers wanted to meet Gibson after her performance in El Paso, Texas. Just thirty minutes later Puigdollers was at her door knocking. Gibson called 911 and Puigdollers was detained. The note:
- "Hi Deb it's Jorge, I'm here getting a short vacations, California, Arizona, and Texas. I could have liked to meet you here. But I know you're so busy with your business, (illegible) and tore[sp]. Maybe we can meet us in El Paso on Saturday. As you know I'll go to Atlantic City to see your concerst. Sure will be there lots of your fans. Hope you're fine with a great health. Take Care.
