Inspired by the sounds of Thelonius Monk and Miles Davis, the music of the Basquiat Strings is a fusion of traditional classical music with a jazz rhythm.Led by cellist Ben Davis, the group released their first album, Basquiat Strings with Seb Rochford, which the BBC called a "very listenable" body of work with a "cohesive vision." The Sunday Times also listed it as the #1 jazz album of 2007.
The group, who have since gained a substantial fan following, continue to record and tour various jazz festivals throughout Europe.
