  • April 30, 2008: A large fire broke out at the Hollywood and Vine intersection in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The fire raged on for 2 1/2 hours before firefighters brought it under control at around 8am.

    The building, which housed the Basque Nightclub was completely gutted by the fire. Three other businesses were damaged, a tattoo parlor, a beauty supply company and an unoccupied shoe store.

    Officials said that the clean-up would disrupt traffic for most of the afternoon.
