• Basement Jaxx is an electronic music duo formed in London in 1994. They produce upbeat house music, and frequently collaborate with other artists on their studio albums. They've been very successful commercially, with hit songs like Red Alert and Where's Your Head At getting radio play. Their songs have also been featured in commercials and movies.

• Early History

  Before Basement Jaxx became popular for producing house music, they were popular DJs who ran a regular club night called Rooty in their South London neighborhood, Brixton. The success of these parties led to their debut album, Basement Jaxx, and was also the namesake of their second album, Rooty.
