- Trades are not official until approved by the Commissioner
- Some trades are subject to players passing a physical
- Teams that are in the race for the playoffs are referred to as "buyers"
- Teams that are out of the race for the playoffs are referred to as "sellers"

The Baseball Trade Deadline is July 31, 2007. Teams in Major League Baseball all allowed to trade players between each other up to the deadline without first having those players clear the waiver process. There are usually several blockbuster deals involving top players right at the deadline.
