Former football coach Barry Switzer served as the head coach for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League and the Oklahoma Sooners in NCAA football.

Brief Biography
After playing college football with the Arkansas Razorbacks, Switzer served in the U.S. Army, then returned to the University of Arkansas to begin his coaching career. He started as an assistant coach in 1961 for the Razorbacks, then moved to the Oklahoma Sooners as an assistant in 1966.College Football Hall of Fame: Barry SwitzerSwitzer was promoted to the head coaching position with the Oklahoma Sooners in 1973. He led the team for 16 years, recording winning seasons each year. Switzer helped the Sooners win 12 Big Eight Conference Championships, as well as three National Championships, in 1974, 1975 and 1985. In 1994, Switzer was hired as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. He immediately made an impact on the team, leading them to 12-4 seasons in 1994 and 1995, as well as a win in Super Bowl XXX in 1996. Switzer has also written an autobiography entitled "Bootlegger's Boy", in which he details his tumultuous childhood as well as the struggles he encountered throughout his life in becoming one of the most succesful coaches in the history of organized football.
