Barry Pepper is a Canadian actor who has starred in many films and television programs. As a child, Pepper spent five years traveling around the South Pacific with his family on their homemade boat. They built the 50 foot vessel in their backyard and christened her “The Moonlighter”. After their half decade long travels, Pepper and family went back to Canada where he finished his schooling and eventually became a television actor. He quickly moved on to movies.

Career Highlights
After paying his “acting dues” in some less than well received films, Pepper earned rave reviews in Steven Spielberg’s World War II drama Saving Private Ryan. In Saving Private Ryan Pepper portrayed Pvt. Daniel Jackson, a gifted sniper who relies heavily on his faith in God to get his job done. He followed up Ryan with roles in Enemy of the State starring Will Smith and Gene Hackman, and The Green Mile which starred Academy Award-winner Tom Hanks.
Pepper’s next acting role came in 2000’s Battlefield Earth. In the film he played Jonnie Goodboy Tyler, a human slave who starts a rebellion to overthrow an evil alien race in the year 3000. The movie was panned by critics and won Pepper the Golden Raspberry Award for worst supporting actor. In 2001, Pepper would star in 61* as baseball legend Roger Marrs. He won glowing reviews but the accolades were short lived once his mobster movie '’Knockaround Guys’’ was released.
In 2003, Pepper starred in ’'The Snow Walker’’ a film about the surviving members of a plane crash. His role as Charlie Halliday earned him a Leo Award for Best Lead Performance by a Male in a Feature Length Drama. He followed up this role with parts in the films 3: The Dale Earnhardt Story, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Ripley Under Ground and Flags of Our Fathers. Pepper’s future projects include: Like Dandelion Dust’’, ‘’Seven Pounds’’ starring Will Smith and 2009’s ‘’After Heaven’’.
