Barbarella is a 1968 science-fiction film and camp classic based on Jean-Claude Forest's comics of the same name. Barbarella is portrayed by actress Jane Fonda, who famously removes her clothes in zero gravity in the film's opening sequence.
Directed by Roger Vadim and produced by Dino De Laurentiis, the film was a critical and box office flop upon its release, but its cult status has persisted. A remake, rumored to be directed by Robert Rodriguez, is currently in development with Universal.
