On April 22, 2008, Barbara Tassinari, 29, was shot more than 12 times and killed in the back yard of her Abington, Massachusetts home, allegedly by her husband John Tassinari, also 29. He claims that he was angry and believed she was having an affair, her family denies any affair took place and claims she was making plans to leave him.
The incident
According to police, Tassinari dialed 911 and confessed to the killing, apologizing and saying that his wife had been cheating on him. Two black 45-caliber Glock pistols were discovered near her body, and she had been shot roughly a dozen times. Police report that the victim's brother, Frank Scolaro, who lives next door, tackled Tassinari and held a .32-caliber pistol to his head, and was subdued by officers at the scene. Tassinari was charged with murder and plead not guilty. A bail hearing was set for May 14.Background
Barbara Tassinari married John Tassinari on November 6, 2004, and the couple had two sons, Noah, 10, and Frank, 2, the latter of whom was named after her brother. Her parents also lived on the same block. John Tassinari was an award-winning science student in high school and afterwards, and attended Worcester Polytechnic Institute.-
