Barbara Billingsley was an American actress who played June Cleaver in the television comedy Leave It to Beaver. The show ran from 1957 to 1963. Billingsley got her start in acting when she left college in Los Angeles for New York City to appear in the Broadway play Straw Hat. The show closed after only five performances.
