After Straw Hat closed, Billingsley went on to become a $60 per week model.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0082511/bio#trivia http://www.tvguide.com/celebrities/barbara-billingsley/bio/141097

Billingsley went back into acting in the 1940s, often playing uncredited roles in minor movies. Her movie career went into the 1950s. She was featured in two failed TV series before landing her big break in Leave It To Beaver. Beaver was on the air for six seasons.http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0082511/bio#triviahttp://www.upi.com/Entertainment_News/TV/2010/10/16/Barbara-Billingsley-Beavers-mom-dies/UPI-39881287270623/

Despite the wholesome image that she portrayed on Leave It To Beaver, Billingsley admitted that she got her start acting in movies playing "bad girl" roles. After her role as June Cleaver, Billingsley had trouble finding work until she played an elderly passenger in the disaster-movie spoof Airplane! in 1980. After that, Billingsley began landing acting roles again, including a couple of spin-off shows of Leave It to Beaver and a 1997 movie version of the show.http://www.upi.com/Entertainment_News/TV/2010/10/16/Barbara-Billingsley-Beavers-mom-dies/UPI-39881287270623/
