  • Barbados is an island nation in the Caribbean. The island is one of the better developed ones in the Caribbean and this helps make it one of the more popular spots for tourism in the area.
  • Attractions

Barbados offers visitors many attractions and sightseeing opportunities throughout the island. Beaches, of course, are a main attraction because of the warm Caribbean waters and beautiful, sunny weather. But there are also some other "natural wonders" that should be explored while visiting Barbados. The Flower Forest, for example, is a wonderful stop if you are one for "breathtaking views" and vast, natural arrangements of wild flowers such as orchids and other tropical plants.

The Oughterson Zoo is said to be "incomparable." How many other zoos allow animals to roam freely and uncaged, while visitors are able to take hikes through this habitat? It sounds like the perfect family activity and it seems as if there is always something new around every corner.

  • Activities

What isn't there to do in Barbados? Tour guides offer fishing charters and diving expeditions; while on your own you can take on the open waters by surfing the east side of the island, which is knows as a "mecca" for surfers.

Out of the water, there are spas and shopping. Why not relax a bit at the Spa at Sandy Lane Hotel or Sugar Sugar Spa, both recommended by the Barbado's tourism site.

Shopping should be an activities in itself. Many hotels offer shuttle services for a small fee to the shopping districts in the areas. Visitors and locals alike can shop in fine boutiques, that are in many high-class hotel, or check out some of the local culture in some of the smaller towns and villages.
