Barbados is an island nation in the Caribbean. The island is one of the better developed ones in the Caribbean and this helps make it one of the more popular spots for tourism in the area. Many of the dining establishments in Barbados are rated and reviewed by Zagat, one of the most elite reviews any restaurant can get.

The Cliff restaurant is the best, well-rated dining option on the island. Not only have they received high marks through Zagat, but they have been reviews highly by Concierge.com, Frommer's, Fodor's and have received a 4-diamond rating by AAA. The menu is a fixed-price, a bit on the high-end side and does not cater towards children. The food is "simply the best", the service, "impeccable" and the view is nothing to complain about either; all-in-all, the Cliff is an "unforgettable experience." Reservations are strongly recommended.

For a low-cost, family-friendly dining experience, completely opposite of the Cliff, try one of the Chefette Restaurants on the island. They are much like and American fast food chain, serving various types of chicken, ribs, pizzas and even a salad bar. There is a "kid zone" for the children, which includes a play area, activities and toys; everything to keep your little ones occupied while dining out. There are 14 total Chefette restaurants located throughout Barbados.
