  • Band of Horses, known early in its life as simply Horses, is an American Indie Rock band formed in Seattle by Ben Bridwell, Mat Brooke, Creighton Barrett and Rob Hampton. They were later joined in February 2006 by Joe Arnone. The band has a contract with Sub Pop records, which signed with after opening for Iron and Wine on a series of dates in Seattle. Their songs have appeared in several commercials, including a spot for the Ford Motor Company.

    Former members of the band include Joe Arnone, Mat Brooke, Sera Cahoone, Chris Early and Tim Meining. Bridwell and Brooke formed the band after their previous effort, Carissa's Wierd broke up.
