The Baltimore Ravens, named after the poem by Edgar Allen Poe who resided in and around the city during his lifetime and is buried there, were established in 1996, when the Cleveland Browns owner, Art Modell decided to move his team to Baltimore. The name "Ravens" was chosen over two other names, the "marauders" and the "Americans." The decision was made by polling Baltimore residents. The Ravens are a member of the American Football Conference's North Division. The Baltimore Ravens won their first and only appearance in a Super Bowl against the New York Giants following the 2000-01 season. That season, coach Brian Billick forbade the players from using the words "playoff" or "postseason". In both years, the Ravens made it to the AFC Playoffs losing to Super Bowl Champions, Pittsburgh Steelers in 2008, and the Indianapolis Colts in 2009. They play their home games at M&T Bank Stadium which has a permanent display, called the "Ring of Honor". The ring encircles the field, and honors both Colt and Raven influential people and players. In preparation for the 2010-11 season, the Ravens signed Jim Zorn as the new quarterback coach and they acquired 3 time pro-bowler, wide receiver, Anquan Bolden from the Arizona Cardinals.
