The Baltimore Orioles are a professional baseball team that plays in the Eastern Division of the American League. In it's franchise history the Orioles have won three World Series championships, seven American League pennants and eight division titles.

Attendance for the Baltimore Orioles for the 2009 season totaled out at 1,907,163, less than half of the available seating, averaging only 28,545 fans for their 81 home games. The struggling team saw a number of New York Yankee fans that were unable to come up with the funding to go to the new Yankee Stadium.
Despite losing 98 games during the 2009 season and poor attendance, the television ratings for the Orioles were still respectable. An average of 32,000 households in the Baltimore area watched the ballgames.
