The Baltimore Orioles have an active roster of 25 players. Their roster is divided up with 12 pitchers and 13 position players. They have 2 catchers, 6 infielders, and 5 outfielders. 12 of their 25 players are under the age of 30, while 13 are over 30 years of age.
The Orioles are not a young team, but they do have some excellent young talent. While the Orioles have have several established position players like Brian Roberts and Miguel Tejada, their best players in 2010 are likely to be younger standouts Nick Markakis, Adam Jones and Matt Wieters.
The only true veteran starter in the their starting rotation in 2010 is Kevin Millwood, who was been in the major leagues since 1997. Rookie starter Brian Mutusz has been picked by some experts to be an AL Rookie of the Year candidate in 2010. The Orioles are a team likely to be on the upswing in 2010, but they still have a lot of young talent to develop before they can be a contender.

Best All-Time Combination
While there have been many great combinations in the history of the Orioles, the best was the SS-1B comb of Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken in the 1980's. Eddie Murray's first stint with the Orioles was from 1977-1988, and Cal Ripken was first called up the Orioles in 1981.
Cal Ripken made an immediate splash, winning the AL Rookie of the Year in 1982 and the MVP in 1983. Murray finished 2nd in MVP voting in 1982 and 1983, and this duo led the Orioles to a World Series Champtionship in 1983, their first since 1970. Murray and Ripken were one of the best 1-2 punches of the era, and they were both very durable. Everyone knows that Ripken never missed a day of work, but Murray also played in over 150 games every year but one from 1982-1988.
Both Murray and Ripken are now in the Baseball Hall of Fame, both as Orioles. They each won only 1 World Series ring in their career, with the 1983 Orioles. They were a great duo, and the best in the history of the Orioles
