At least one company is capitalizing on the "Balloon Boy" saga by selling balloon boy costumes online. Plantraco's Balloon Boy Halloween costume kit features an inflatable mylar balloon along with a box, complete with a "My name is Falcon" name tag and "Seen on CNN" sticker.
Balloon Boy Halloween costumes can also be homemade, using a spare cardboard box and a plain mylar balloon or Jiffy Pop.

Falcon Heene captivated the attention of the world on October 15, 2009, after a large homemade weather balloon, believed to be carrying the six-year-old boy, floated roughly 50 miles at heights in upwards of 10,000 feet in Colorado. The boy was later found safe, allegedly hiding in a box in the attic of the family's garage during the ordeal.
After Falcon Heene told CNN "we did this for the show" later that night, law enforcement determined that the dramatic incident was a hoax to promote a reality show. The parents, Richard and Mayumi Heene are facing charges.
