Gameplay
Although based on the Baldur's Gate PC games, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance verged from the traditional Dungeons and Dragons style gameplay of its predecessors to offer more traditional third-person action gameplay, including jumping, attacking and combos. Players have the opportunity to choose to play as a member of one of three races - human, dwarf, or elf. Each race has its own skills and abilities, making the strategy for attack very different for each one. Besides fighting fantastical creature enemies, the gameplay is also peppered with small puzzles. GameSpot: Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance PS2 Review (November 21, 2001)
