Inventing Bacon Salt
According to the company's website, the idea for Bacon Salt was invented at a kosher wedding, where the manufacturer-to-be Justin Esch told the fellow attendees what they were missing by never eating bacon. In 2007, Esch and his coworker Dave Lefkow began to work on a recipe in their spare time off their work at an IT company. They were able to realize their dream when Lefkow's three-year-old son won a $5,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos in a hilarious spot in which he beans his father while learning how to hit a baseball. The final recipe is completely kosher and vegetarian, has no calories, no fat, and low sodium.JD Foods: Bacon Salt
