Backstreet Boys Background
Formed in 1993 in Orlando, Florida, the Backstreet Boys originally included five members, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter, A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough and Kevin Richardson. They released four studio albums from 1996 to 2000 and rose to fame alongside fellow pop artists of the time like NSYNC and Britney Spears. They however also found their names in headlines for legal issues with manager Lou Pearlman, whom they later sued over improper management of the band and conspiracy.http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/backstreet_boys/artist.jhtml#biographyEnd
After several years when many group members pursued solo careers, the group reunited, in 2004, to release several additional albums. Group member Kevin Richardson left the band, in 2006, but the remaining four members went on to continue on the touring circuit in the years since.http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/backstreet_boys/artist.jhtml#biographyEnd
