- YouTube: Meet The Bachelor Matt Grant (Time: 3:11)
- YouTube: The Bachelor London Calling - Episode 1 Intro (Time: 10:00)
- Chris Harrison introduces the Bachelor and announces the arrival of the 25 Bachelorettes. One by one they arrive and greet Matt. Some girls are flirtatious and forward, some are shy, and one (Alyssa) forgot to tell Matt her name.
- Inside the mansion, the girls get to work trying to impress the Bachelor. Michele convinces Matt to play "Rock, Paper, Scissors". Chelsea arm-wrestles Matt and beats him. Ashlee plays guitar and sings a song that she wrote for Matt. Michele plays the clarinet for him. Amanda R. begins to hiccup, due to the stress, but is cured whenever Matt is in the room...hummm.
- Erin called Stacey a "token nutbag" after Stacey was heard swearing, and she continued to gossip about her behind Stacey's back, stating that Stacey was "a tasteless bitch." Stacey continues to drink alcohol until she is stumbling and falling down drunk -- at which point Erin tells her that the other girls think she is a "whore".
- Erin H., Stacey, and Matt all get together, and Stacey continues with her forward behavior and interrupts Erin's conversation with Matt, saying that they are boring her. She rubs Matt's knee, kisses him, and ends up handing Matt her thong underwear. Erin makes sure to tell the story to the other girls, and to quote Marshana, "Stacey is loud, belligerent, tasteless, tacky, classless and she's riding my nerves like a pony."
- Matt tells Shayne that he was attracted to her immediately, and asks her about being an actress. She is the daughter of Lorenzo Lamas, but does not tell Matt.
- Matt gives the "First Impression Rose" to a shocked Amanda R, telling her that she "blew him away" and "shone like a diamond."
- The rose ceremony begins and roses were handed to: Chelsea, Shayne, Michelle P., Marshana, Ashlee, Noelle, Erin S., Amy, Carri, Kristine, Robin, Kelly, Holly, and Erin H.
- Alyssa, Denise, Devon, Rebecca, Lesley, Amanda P., Michele, Stacey, Tamara, and Tiffany were sent packing.
Season 12: Episode 2, Monday, March 24, 2008
- YouTube: The Bachelor London Calling - Episode 2 Intro (Time: 9:40)
- Chris Harrison joins the ladies to tell them that the first of two group dates is about to begin. Holly gets to the invitation first invitation and announces the names for this date. They are: Marshana, Noelle, Ashlee, Kristine, Holly, Michelle, Amanda and Erin H. The card says, "come runway with me."
- The first group date was a fashion show for the bachelors eyes only, where the Bachelorettes were the models. Marshana, has been in beauty pageants before so she brags that she will do so well that the other girls will be sent home. Amanda does a sexy little move and takes off her blouse to expose a gold bra. There was an after show party with a good deal of drinking and dancing. Marshana gets Matt alone and asks him how he feels about interracial dating. Now if he minded, don't you think he would have axed her in the first rose ceremony? Wonder why she felt the need to ask him that? He, of course, answered like a gentleman, stating that it was not a problem at all. Michelle sings Matt a song that she wrote (is this The Bachelor vs American Idol?) about her desire to have him touch her. Ashlee was the big winner on this date and received the rose and a kiss. Hummm, did anyone get as annoyed as I did, when you saw her flaunting the rose at the party and again when she got back to the mansion? I felt like I was watching an eight grader trying to make-believe she was popular.
- On to the next gift box...that was really a briefcase full of monopoly money with a note stating "take a gamble on love...show me the city of sin.". Las Vegas was the location of the next group date with gambling for all! Each girl was given $1,000 in chips with which to gamble. Whoever won the most in a thirty minute time period, would win a half hour of "alone time" with Matt that evening. Shayne lost her money immediately and became angry with Matt that she has been made to "wait in the wings". (Doesn't she sound like a Hollywood spoiled child, kicking and screaming to get her way?). Kelly wins the "alone time", but is she sober enough to appreciate it? Matt gives Chelsea the rose, during the evening party, which sends Shayne over the edge. She threatens to go home. Yeah!! 23 Skidoo!! Can we hope for anything more?
- Robin finagled time alone with the Bachelor and received her first kiss from him. Marshana ends up dancing with Matt, but alas, no kiss for the princess. Carrie, another American Idol wannabe, begins singing opera and poor Amanda starts in with the hiccups again. Hollywood drama queen, Shayne, tells Matt that she "will die" if he sends her home.
- The rose ceremony was once again announced and the winners were: Robin, Holly, Erin S., Amanda, Kelly, Amy, Kristine, Marshana, Noelle and Shayne.
- Once again, ladies were sent home. Tonight, three were denied a rose, and they were: Carri, Erin H. and Michelle.
- It looks like next week's episode will find the ladies trying to impress Matt with the game of rugby. Shayne appears to finally get her time alone with Matt.
Season 12: Episode 3, Monday, March 31, 2008
- YouTube: The Bachelor London Calling Episode 3 Intro (Time 9:22)
- YouTube: The Bachelor London Calling 3/31/08 Recap (Time: 10:09)
- Chris Harrison arrives and announces that there will be one group date and two one-on-one dates. The catch is...if the one who goes on the one-on-one date does not get a rose, they will be leaving immediately, so Chris tells them to have their bags packed, if they are chosen. Our drama queen Shayne states "Can you imagine if he sends me home? I would die, I'm sorry, I would die!"
- The first date box is opened by Amanda and the card says "Holly, join me for a private premiere of the Columbia Pictures, Made of Honor. Holly is excited to get some alone time and mentions that Patrick Dempsey is in the film. She is confident that she and Matt have chemistry, but does not have confidence that she will be returning to the house after her date. Ashlee is jealous and states, "I thought he was mine", because she had received the first kiss.
- A limo picks up Holly and Matt and whisks them to a grand red carpet experience for the premiere...paparazzi and all. Matt is in awe and admits that he is so proud to be with Holly and she is a really special girl. They put their hands in concrete and Matt drew a heart and added the words "Mattt + Holly". Holly admitted to a reporter that Matt was one of the most charming men that she had ever met. Matt tells her that he is looking for someone that is "outgoing, smart and in thirty years time, is still making me laugh." Holly laughs and says she is his perfect girl. The movie had Holly in tears and Matt comforted her.
- Off to the penthouse suite across from the Mann's Chinese Theater, where they discussed why Holly authored the children's book, I Miss You. It was written for the three children that she babysat for in Ohio, whom she had to leave, when she moved to L.A..
- The next date box arrives and Marshana brings it to the ladies. The card says "It is time to get down and dirty. Meet me for a game of football, British like." Kristine, Amanda, Chelsea, Erin, Noelle, Robin, Marshana, Kelly, Ashlee and Amy are all invited. That, of course, leaves Shayne with the last one-on-one date and when she realizes that, she gets up and dances.
- Back to Matt and Holly...where we catch up with them discussing their feelings for each other. Matt wonders if they are too comfortable with each other and that disturbs Holly, as he clarifies his words and explains that he is referring to whether they have chemistry with each other.
- Flash to the ladies back at the mansion, where they discover the cement hand prints and inscriptions that were made by Matt and Holly . There is discussion about who really wrote "Matt loves Holly" and Noelle states that if those two are in love, they all may as well go home.
- Back to the lovebirds in the hot tub, where we find them kissing. Matt admits that the kiss was great and there is "a brilliant chemistry" between them. He reaches for the rose and hands it to Holly. Humm, he also admits that it will take "a hell of a lot to beat this."
- The rugby game gets down and dirty, just like the girls were warned. Robin steps up and volunteers to start the contact drills, which impresses Matt. He then takes an interest in Amanda and gives her encouragement.
- Back to the mansion, where we find Shayne complaining that she needs to tan. Holly admits that she has brought her spray tanning machine with her. (What the heck?!) Shayne is ecstatic and strips down for Holly to spray her.
- Ok, now back to the rugby game where the teams are being divvied up. Matt chose Kelly and Marshana to be the team captains. Ashlee was the last one chosen and Chelsea criticizes her (not to her face) for wearing fake eyelashes to the game, and states that she deserved to be picked last. Marshana gets hit in the mouth and kneels on the ground. Matt goes over to see what is wrong and gentleman that he is, he covers her with a coat. They all go back to Matt's for a party where he provides the ladies with bikini bathing suits. They grab some drinks and hit the pool. Because Kelly was the captain of the winning team, she gets a massage alongside of Matt. Robin takes Matt aside to sit by the fire and then in the hot tub, as Matt says, he believes they have a connection. Next, Amanda gets him alone and they discuss music and George Michael. Robin is surprised by the rose!
- Meanwhile, Shayne gets her date box..which hints at a a wine date, and the card read "romance awaits." She dons white go-go girl boots and a black ruffled dress, for the date. They head to the Casa Barranca Winery in Ojai, California. Matt asks her about her parents and wonders why she is being mysterious about them. She finally admits her father is Lorenzo Lamas, who starred in the show Renegade. Matt is concerned about her age (22), her high maintenance and the possibility that she is not ready for marriage. Shayne states that she will be devastated if she does not get the rose. They kiss in front of the fire and Matt states that he feels like a sixteen year old boy with her. Oh yes, she gets the rose.
- Back at the mansion...Matt kisses Chelsea and says that she is a good kisser. The girls get angry that Robin takes Matt away, especially since she has a rose already. It turns into a screaming match for a few minutes. Matt and Holly steal away and Matt tells her that he missed her. Chris Harrison appears to remind them that the rose ceremony is about to begin. Amanda gets the first rose, then Ashlee, Kelly, Chelsea, Noelle follow. Marshana gets the final rose. The hot dog vendor(?) Erin is sent home, along with Amy and Kristine.
- Next week: The girls make fun of Robin out of jealousy? and there appears to be a 50s themed date.
Season 12: Episode 4, Monday, April 7, 2008
- YouTube: The Bachelor London Calling - Episode 4 Intro ( Time 9:48)
- It's morning, and Chris Harrison arrives to fill the ladies in on the challenges ahead. There will be a group date, a special one-on-one date and a two-on-one date. They are told that after the double female date, one lady will receive the rose and the other will leave immediately. Marshana announces who is chosen for the group date, which includes Kelly, Chelsea, Shayne, Ashlee, Noelle and Robin. The card says, "I'm looking for the perfect match." The date bag is filled with a tennis racquet, balls and teacups. The ladies decide that the date must include a high tea and Robin explains that it is an important part of Wimbledon tennis tradition, so it would be important to Matt.
- Off to the clay courts for a game of tennis. Ashlee is doing a great job playing and that irks Shayne. She makes a a catty remark about "having heard all about Ashlee's talents". Kelly pronounces that she is the best tennis player, while Matt declares that Chelsea "looks ridiculously hot" and that he normally can control himself with gawking, but he is finding that a challenge today, due to Chelsea's charms. Unbeknown to Chelsea, Shayne is a former gymnast. To get Matt's attention, the two of them ask Matt to judge their gymnastic abilities...guess who is the most impressive? In spite of that, Matt takes Ashlee away from the others first. She is gleeful, because she doesn't like "sloppy seconds". Ok, what? She doesn't understand what Matt means when he compliments her for taking everything "in stride", so he has to define that for her. She breaks out in song and Matt is mesmerized. Meanwhile the gossip is raging about Ashlee, behind her back. The ladies all agree that she is "just a baby" and naive. Matt kisses her and when he leaves, once again, she breaks out in song, belting out, "I want the rose so bad!" Robin and Matt wander away together and discuss tea, British mannerisms, and their feelings for each other. The claws come out about Robin. Shayne appears to be leading the gossip girls and they mock Robin. Next Shayne confronts Robin about playing fair and how she needs to respect the woman and not be so competitive. Robin cries and Shayne appears to feel uncomfortable, for making her cry. Robin and Ashlee are stunned when Matt gives the date rose to a surprised Chelsea.
- Humm, Amanda is asked to go on the special date, "a blast to the past". The implications of that are not great for Marshana. She realizes that she is the underdog, going on the two-on-one date with Holly. She admits that she does not want to go home and would like more time for the two of them to get to know one another. What a shock it would be if she were to stay! No way will he keep her over Holly, or is there?
- Amanda decides to show Matt the hot, bad girl, vixen side of her, on their date tonight. The girls teasingly tell her she looks like a slut and a whore. Matt picks her up and they head for a 50s diner. They dance and Amanda says he is the worst dancer. She is immediately given the rose and they head out to an amusement park on the water.
- The girls argue as Marshana freaks out over the upcoming date. The limo picks up Holly and Marshana for a ride to dinner at Matt's place. He asks them both if they would move to the United Kingdom. Both are adamant that they would do whatever it takes to be with him. Marshana (alone with Matt) bares her feelings and they kiss. Holly admits that the relationship is scary, that she really likes Matt, and they also kiss. Back at the mansion, the ladies discuss their feelings about who will stay. They are sure that Holly will be coming home that night with the rose and Marshana will be sent home. Ah, the twists and turns of love...I am dumbfounded!!! Matt gives the rose to Marshana and sends Holly home because he felt their conversations were strained at times. At the mansion, the ladies are beyond stunned, and Shayne cries when she sees that Marshana is the one that has returned.
- The rose ceremony cocktail party begins. Matt has a major heart to heart with Ashlee about whether they have more in common than just looks and music. Her answer was they would try to make it work and is not very convincing to me. I wonder if she is in this for her big break in music rather than love. Next, Matt speaks to Noelle and asks to to leave her comfort zone and "go for it". He tells Kelly that he thinks she is more interested in hanging out with the girls than she is with him, which bums her out. She tears open her shirt and bares her breasts. (Not all of them!!). Matt is not impressed. Shayne tells Matt that she wants him to send all the girls home. Matt holds her and they tenderly kiss. I think he will keep her around, so that he can meet her famous family, what do you think? The "meeps" continue until Chris Harrison returns to let them know the "big moment" has arrived. Matt starts the rose ceremony by giving Shayne the first rose. Robins accepts the next rose, followed by Noelle. Matt sends Kelly and Ashlee home. Kelly thinks he made a mistake but really acts like she could care less. Ashlee cries, but recovers enough to sing for the last time. Oh boy...I'm still betting on American Idol as her next stop.
- Next week it's skiing in Sun Valley. Chelsea admits to Matt that she doesn't like to hold hands. Chelsea and Marshana are involved in a shouting match while Shayne tries to break it up. Looks like it may be interesting. See you then!
Season 12: Episode 5, Monday, April 14, 2008
- YouTube Video: The Bachelor-London Calling Episode 5 Intro (Time: 10:10)
- YouTube Video: The Bachelor-London Calling Recap (Time: 10:25)
- Once again, it is morning and Chris Harrison arrives. Six woman are left and two will leave this week. Chris announces that they must all pack their bags and head to Matt in Sun Valley, Idaho. The ladies scream and dance, while Shayne admits she is great on skis, so she thinks it will give her a chance to impress Matt. Matt greets them all as they arrive...lots of fun in the snow, follows.
- Robin says that she needs one-on-one time, but Chelsea gets the date tonight. A romantic sleigh ride follows for Chelsea. Matt asks Chelsea "who has the biggest ass?"...she asks if he means one of the girls and he laughs and points to the horses in front of them. Chelsea loves his sense of humor and tells him so. Matt admits that they have fun together but he is fearful that they are really only best friends having fun together. Chelsea then breaks it to Matt that she is averse to hand holding. He realizes that she is not going to give him the affection that he needs, but she tells him that she is romantic in a vulnerable way. She writes a note to Matt that asks if they can find a fantasy suite together at his place. Oh, that's the way to show him! He is thrilled and has admitted to Chelsea that his parents would love her.
- Marshana, Shayne, Robin and Amanda are chosen to go skiing with Matt. That leaves Noelle with the one-on-one date. Marshana is thrilled that Robin still doesn't get any time alone with Matt. Off to the slopes! Marshana and Amanda admit that they have never been on skis before, which worries Matt. Amanda picks it right up as Matt teaches her...she thinks he will make a good father because he is such a kind instructor. Marshana bitches (oops, sorry) that she is too busy trying to stand to get any time alone with Matt. Shayne struts her stuff on a snowboard. Matt is impressed and calls her a snow monkey. She wipes out and says they need to rest a minute because she ate some powder (snow). She then starts to put on make-up on the slope and Matt is in disbelief. He cracks up laughing when she brings out her blush brush and compact. She says that she has to look good for him. Shayne tells him she is ready to settle down and Matt tells her that he loves being with her. Robin skis over to interrupt the kissing and asks Matt why he never asked her for a singular date. Matt tells her that it is because they had a connection early on and didn't feel they needed to "hang together". I don't know about you, but that smacks of a story to me...we shall see, won't we. On to a spa to warm up. Amanda takes him alone to a hot tub, where she tells him that if he came home with her that it would be culture shock for him. She says her family is "kinda redneck", live in a double wide trailer and would fix him opossum for dinner. Nothing wrong with any of that, but I do believe she was kidding..hehe. They kiss.
- Noelle's date invitation is a cup of cocoa with a note that says "Let's warm up before we hit the ice". Ah, here comes an ice skating date. Matt whisks her off to an outside rink at night. Neither one can skate, but they have a great time together. They talk about the car accident that Noelle was in and she tells Matt that it has made her very grateful and thankful for everything. He admires that philosophy. Matt muses to himself that this was a girl that he could spend his whole life with. Noelle tells Matt that she wants to take him home and that fact is huge.
- Back at the ski chalet, the other gals sit around and talk. Marshana tells them that she has seen how Matt lives and now wants him to see the same about her. Robin questions that, stating that Marshana has never been to London and doesn't know how British people live. Marshana tells her that she has seen him play rugby and swim...Robin interrupts her and says that that is not how he really lives his life. Marshana gets in her face and tells her not to be condescending and she "will not have it". Chelsea jumps in to say that Marshana has a negative attitude and says that she doesn't want to be here. Oh wow! That sparks something in Marshana...and she tells Chelsea that "you will not misquote me, I will not have it, I will not have it, I will not have it". Marshana orders her to "walk off, walk off" and when Chelsea gets up to leave, Marshana follows her, berating her the entire way.
- Rose ceremony: Marshana grabs Matt right away to tell him "her side of the story". Matt tells her that he is impressed by her and that she got through the hardest evening so far. Wait! What? Did I hear him correctly? Chelsea interrupts them and he questions her again about the romance arena. She tries to reassure him. Next Robin gets Matt alone and tells him that she hopes he will come to Michigan. That irritates Shayne, who goes to Matt. Shayne practically begs him to meet her family, because they would tell Matt how wonderful and loyal she is. The ceremony begins. Shayne is the first to get a rose. Noelle is next and followed by Chelsea. The last rose of the night goes to Amanda. Wow! I am shocked that Robin is sent packing (but I was right about him not really wanting to be on a singular date with her), but not so shocked about Marshana. Maybe it was a good thing..Robin's final words were "Bon soir" and "bleep him" as she left.
- Next Week: Off to the hometown's to meet the parents. Shayne's father,Lorenzo Lamas, tells Matt that he shouldn't toy with Shayne's feelings. Chelsea's dad tells her that she needs to be honest with Matt, if she has feelings for him. Amanda's mom rubs Matt's chest after her dad asks if they have been intimate?? It look like it is shaping up to be an interesting night! Until then...
Season 12: Episode 6, Monday, April 21, 2008
- YouTube: The Bachelor: London Calling Episode 6 Rose Ceremony (Time: 10:25)
Shayne
- Matt heads to Los Angeles, Shayne's hometown, for the first family meeting. Her parents are divorced so he meets with her father Lorenzo Lamas in a restaurant. Shayne has been worried all along that Matt will reject her because he believes that she is on the show to get television and acting exposure and her father confirms that immediately. Shayne is furious, but you can't tell by her behavior in the presence of her father, although she admits it to the camera. She tells them both that she is there for Matt and her father says that he believes her. Lamas tells Matt that he doesn't want him to toy with his daughters affections and admits that he wasn't always there for her while she was growing up. Matt says that he will not "screw around with her affections and that she is almost too good to be true". They are off to see Shayne's mother Michele and are greeted by her mother and sister Dakota at the home that Shayne bought for Michele. It's a feminine house full of animal skin prints and dogs Riley and Madison (in a pink tutu). In honor of Matt's heritage, dinner is roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Michele takes Matt to the bedroom to show a video of Shayne performing and they discuss how Matt might feel if he married someone in show business. Meanwhile Shayne admits to her sister that she is not in love with Matt, but could easily fall in love with him. Matt has a great visit and says that he is falling for her "big time".
Chelsea
- Durango, Colorado is the next stop. Chelsea takes Matt to see Addy and Kerry, her parents. She greatly admires and misses her parents and is very excited to see them. After the meal, Kerry discusses Matt with Chelsea and says that he is very surprised and pleased with what he sees in Matt. He advises her to be honest to Matt about her feelings for him. Matt tells Addy that her daughter is stunningly beautiful, genuine and smart. They kiss and Chelsea is able to tell Matt that she loves being with him and will miss him.
Noelle
- Off Matt goes to ride horseback with Noelle in Loveland, Colorado. They ride up to her family, which consists of mom Theresa, dad Larry and sisters Alicia and Rachel. The men go off together to talk and play horsehoes. Her father is skeptical about "what kind of person would do this". They join together for a family meal and dad says he feels like it is the "last supper". After some questioning about where Matt plans to live after marriage, he admits that if he finds the right person, he would be willing to be flexible in that area.
Amanda
- Prankster Amanda has hired actors to play the roles of her parents. What surprises will Tallahassee, Florida hold for poor unsuspecting Matt? The mother laughs loudly and continues to touch him over and over. Her dad asks if they have been physically intimate and the parents argue and make fun of each other. Mom starts to massage Matt's shoulder and nipple and she kisses him. The dad appears to see what is happening and angrily asks Matt what is going on. Amanda decides it is time to admit that the whole meeting is a prank. Matt is speechless! He can't believe he fell for it and is very impressed by Amanda for pulling off the prank. Finally he meets her real family and likes them. Amanda steals Matt away from the dinner table so that they are able to talk alone. Matt plays with her hair and tells her how proud of her that he is and that was the best prank he has ever had played on him. Matt says that he is so lucky to know her and that she is extraordinary.
- The rose ceremony caps off the evening with Shayne receiving the first rose. Amanda is next in line (that prank really worked) and is followed by Chelsea. Noelle is left without a rose and without Matt. Matt walks her out to the limousine and they say their goodbyes.
- The island of Barbados will be host to the bachelor and the three remaining woman next week.
Season 12: Episode 7, Monday, April 28, 2008
- Only three women remain!! Matt is looking forward to the longer, intimate, overnight dates with Shayne, Amanda and Chelsea in Barbados.
- YouTube Video: Sexy Chelsea! (Time: 10:01)
- YouTube Video: Goodbye Amanda! (Time: 6:49)
Shayne's Date
- She admits that she is 100% sure that she is falling in love with Matt. He has no more concerns about her. Shayne jumps on the trampoline in a sexy swimsuit, which pleases Matt. Following the swimming and play, they join for dinner and have an interesting discussion on the ins and outs of "acting kisses". Shayne makes sure to tell Matt that in acting, the actors "never use tongues" during the kiss and only need to move their jaws so it appears as though they are using them. She demonstrates the kiss and Matt surprises her by using his tongue. She laughs and pushes him away to show him what she would do if it happened on set. He asked her if she would treat Brad Pitt that way and she replies "I don't care for Brad Pitt anymore." Matt wants to talk politics but Shayne steers him toward more romantic talk and admits to him that she is falling in love with him. WOW! Matt appears to be touched and tells Shayne that she never ceases to amaze him and that he loves being with her. They kiss and the fantasy suite invitation is brought out and Shayne accepts.
Amanda's Date
- Matt loved the prank and Amanda's family and is looking forward to the visit. Amanda joins Matt and they go zip lining (riding a pulley suspended on a cable) and both are afraid of heights. Matt thinks that conquering their fear of heights together will be sexy. Amanda gets the "meeps." They both do great and have fun. Amanda likes that fact that Matt takes her out of her comfort zone. Dinner on the beach follows and Amanda opens up to Matt about how she is falling for him. Matt tells her that she is genuine and a true, warm caring individual and that he is falling for her. They kiss and he tells her that he loves being with her and offers her the fantasy suite card. She accepts immediately. Up in the suite, Matt rubs her leg and they continue to kiss.
Chelsea's Date
- A catamaran picks them up for the day. Initially Matt thinks that Chelsea is "a million miles away" and their date is awkward and strained. They snorkel and ride with the turtles with Matt saying that he has more eye contact with the turtle than he does with Chelsea. He has high hopes that dinner will be better than the day has been. Chelsea comes clean with the fact that she is fearful of getting hurt and sharing him with the other girls. Matt is relieved and thrills Chelsea with the offer of the fantasy suite. They connect once again and Chelsea slips away to change into a black negligee (and removes her undies) so that he can see her romantic side. Hummm....
- Matt dreads the rose ceremony and starts off by giving the first rose to Shayne. Chelsea gets the next rose and I am totally shocked. He and Amanda walk away together and Matt explains that he has a better connection with the other ladies. She tells him that he is a complete jack*ss for doing this to her (yes, I read lips) and he walks her to the limo. Amanda admits in the limo that she was sure that they would have gotten married and she cries for her lost dreams.
- Next week we will get a chance to catch up with the former contestants in the tell all show, which I always enjoy. Then off they go the following week to meet Matt's parents in London!

Season 12: Episode 8 (The Woman Tell All), Monday, May 5, 2008
- YouTube: The Woman Tell All Intro (Time: 9:47)
- Chris Harrison welcomes everyone back to Los Angeles amidst much screaming and applause. The ladies are all introduced and Chris speaks with Amanda about her initial response to Matt as the first lady to exit the Limo. She admits her nervousness about tripping and how handsome Matt was that night. Marshana speaks next and mentions that she wanted the bachelor to be taller than she was and in excellent physical condition. Matt was way more than she asked for, she says. Stacy's undie escapade was discussed next...remember when she handed Matt her panties? Remember the "token nutbag" and "whore" comments from the other women? Then Stacy's comments about the other women are replayed and I quote; "they are all fu*king whores and I will kill all of them and their families". When Matt appears uncomfortable and displeased with receiving her "special" gift...we hear her comment: "Do you remember me by my fu*cking panties? Then you are dead...clipped." She ends by making a clicking noise and a scissor motion with her fingers. I agree with the others...she needs some serious help!!! Stacy defends herself to Chris Harrison, stating that it wasn't really her, that she is the sweetest person. She had to think of something that would make her stand out among the others. Chris laughs and asks if she has tried that before and if so...did it work out? Erin H. and Marshana comment on her behavior and Marshana points out that they were all there looking for love and to hear Stacy repeatedly tell them she was going to kill them and their families, just didn't feel right. Stacy makes a fairly insincere sounding apology to the group.
- A video of all the dramatic moments followed and Robin joins Harrison in the "hot seat". He asks her why she thinks that she had such a hard time with the women and she responds that she has been hurt a lot by women in the past and she went into a hyperactive competitive mode because the woman were all amazing. She stated that she felt this was the loneliest experience she has had and she has never been hated like this before. Marshana said that she responded to her the way she did because Robin was abrasive and down-right mean to the girls. Amanda jumped in stating that Robin didn't have the right intentions for Matt, because she kept saying it was a competition and she was going to win. Harrison puts Stacey on the spot by reminding everyone of her comment; "If I was a dude, I wouldn't date her." She stutters a bit and then tells Robin that she just isn't her type. Laughter follows.
- Marshana lands in the hot seat and her dramatic moments are revealed on the video that is played. She tells everyone that she responded to Robin in anger because Robin was condescending and disrespecting to her and she will not have that. Her issue with Chelsea was that Chelsea had never taken the opportunity to get to know her, yet stated hard opinions about Marshana's character. The ladies continue to discuss Marshana's personality and she points to Robin and tells her she is dismissed. Harrison jumps in and tells Marshana that it was no secret that everyone was rooting for her to go home when she was on the double date. She said that it felt so good to come home, basically to show the other woman that she could make it. She admits that it hurts being misjudged but she understands that she is not going to change the way people feel about her.
- The hot seat welcomes Amanda. She is very confused that Matt did not give her a rose. She made a point of opening up in Barbados and can't understand why Matt never told her that he had any concerns about the relationship. She believed that Matt not choosing her was a prank to get back at her for the prank that she played on him, during her hometown date. She admits calling him a "D" bag. Ok, so maybe my lip reading isn't so hot. She admits that she has learned the importance of opening up and letting someone know that you like them, to a relationship. Harrison can't help but bring up the fact that Amanda has had a case of chronic hiccups, which she calls the "meeps". Remember them? A video follows that Harrison calls a "meep" montage.
- Here comes the bachelor!!! Matt immediately says that his major concern with Amanda was her use of the word "like" versus "love", especially when Chelsea and Shayne spoke of love. He admits when pressed, that he had a greater chance of finding true love and spending the rest of his life with either Shayne or Chelsea. Marshana and Robin say a few words and then Stacey stands up to give Matt a pair of "granny undies" stating that maybe they would be more his style. He holds them up and pretends to model them. Then some funny moments are shown on a video. Matt becomes serious as Harrison asks him about his fiancee. He says he believes in fate now and that she is a perfect match and he can't wait for the future.
- The show ends with Carrie taking a bite out of a can at the request of an audience member. All in all, it was a fairly boring show...considering all the drama that the season has held, I expected more of it tonight.
- Next week is the finale!! See you then!!
Season 12: The Finale, Monday, May 12, 2008
- YouTube: The Bachelor: London Calling Finale (Time: 9:45)
- Matt is so excited to be home in London, England! He is waiting to meet with Chelsea and take her to the top of the London Eye where they will be able to see the entire city. They kiss and hug while overlooking the panorama. Then off they go to meet Matt's brother Simon, his mother Trish and his father Tony. Chelsea is intimidated and is expecting them to be very proper. Simon feels that Chelsea is charming, incredibly beautiful and he admits to being "quite taken with her". Chelsea remarks to Matt's mother that the number one quality that she looks for in a man is a sense of humor. Matt's mother isn't quite convinced that Chelsea has been sincere with her words during their time together and wants to be convinced of her sincerity. She and Chelsea go into the kitchen to talk privately and Chelsea admits how she has held back emotionally because she is afraid that her heart may be broken. Matt's mother tells Chelsea that she and Matt are very natural together and she can see that they have a good relationship especially because Matt is acting like himself around Chelsea. Matt and his mother speak about how Chelsea would fit in with their family and then it is time for Chelsea to leave. Chelsea feels that the day has gone well and Matt agrees stating that he hates to see her go and he could see himself engaged to this woman...and it is good.
- Shayne arrives looking great in a black spring coat with white buttons. She runs to Matt and looks excited to see him. They kiss and wander over to Hyde Park and then onto a double decker bus that will take them to Matt's family. Shayne admits to "shaking in her boots" but says that because she is falling in love with their son, she has nothing to hide. Once inside, it is easy to see how nervous Shayne is. She spills her drink and then laughs. Matt's brother is not initially impressed and expresses that the bleached blond hair is not really Matt's type. Matt's father asks how old Shayne is and she replies, "12", but goes on to tell him that she is 22 and has been on her own since she was 17 years old. They discuss her acting career and she admits that she wasn't very good ten years ago, but put much time and energy in studying to improve. Simon asks the very pointed question, "The Bachelor, have you seen that as a sort of challenge to be on the top of the pile?" Shayne replies that she and Matt had an immediate connection and if Matt liked her he would keep her around, otherwise why should she even be there. Simon and Shayne leave to talk alone and she asks him what his initial thoughts were when he met her. Simon tells her that he wondered what Matt was attracted to and that he made an assumption about her that was wrong because she grew on him enormously. Matt's mother tells Shayne that she feels very comfortable with Shayne. They discuss Shayne's parents' many marriages and how marriage is important to Shayne. Shayne has a wonderful time stating that it was beyond her expectations.
- Matt seeks his family to receive their input regarding the two ladies. He admits that he is most comfortable around Shayne but more passionate about Chelsea. The parents believe that Shayne was more sincere than Chelsea and Simon weighs in that he imagines Matt being with Chelsea but his father disagrees.
- It's date time again and Matt and Chelsea are in Barbados where Matt surprises her with a helicopter ride. Once they land Matt tells her that this is the coolest date he has ever been on and Chelsea agrees. They spend the day at the beach and then head to the Hilton hotel where Chelsea gives him a package of items that he will need when he visits her in California. It contains a box of cereal to represent breakfast in bed, surf wax because Chelsea wants to teach Matt to surf and a map for all the traveling they will do. They talk about her vulnerability and they both share that they are falling in love with each other. Matt says that she is incredible and everything that he has ever wanted in a woman. They passionately kiss and he leaves.
- Shayne jumps into Matt's arms and he calls her monkey. She is surprised by Matt with a parasailing adventure and while she is floating in the sky she finally says that she is dreaming of Matt getting on his knee to ask her to marry him and that she wants Matt forever and LOVES him and is so ready. Later they cuddle on the couch and Shayne gives him a photo where she is writing "I love you" in the sand. He is very touched and appears to be crying stating that he just melted when he saw it.
- The final rose ceremony is upon us with Chelsea arriving first. (Always a bad sign!) She looks beautiful in a white jeweled neckline gown and Matt tells her that she looks amazing and exquisite. Matt thanks her for the amazing times that they have shared but he has come here to find his life-long partner and he says that he can't give her everything that she needs. He is sorry that she is not the one, because she is incredible. She replied that she felt that he gave her the reassurance that she needed to open up because she just doesn't put herself out there quickly...and he walks her down toward the water when she accuses Shayne of being the falsest person in the group. Matt defends Shayne saying that "the individual that you know is not the individual that I know and I am in this for the long haul to find someone I can be with the rest of my life. If you think for one moment that I am the type of person that would end up with the falsest person here, then you don't know me." Matt walks her to the car and tells he he will miss her. In the car, she struggles not to cry and sadly states that her relationships have been letdown after letdowns...and that Matt is a fool..
- While waiting for his love to arrive, Matt admits that he believes if you follow your heart then you can never regret, because you have made the right decision for the right reasons. He has found his soul mate, an amazing lover (???), a great friend and someone that he feels he can spend the rest of his life with. Shayne arrives in a yellow baby doll dress and looks stunning. She says that she is feeling nervous, anxious, worried, sad and scared. She is afraid that after the great adventure that they have had together, if she loses him, she will be heartbroken. Matt tells Shayne that when he first saw her with her million dollar smile and her big brown eyes that he told himself it was too good to be true. He knows that when he looks into those beautiful brown eyes that she will always be there for him and he hopes that Shayne knows that he will always be there for her. Shayne is blown away when Matt gets down on one knee and takes her hands to ask her to marry him. Once again, he calls her monkey...and she says YES! Then she qualifies that by saying she will marry him under one condition, which is that he will never look at another woman for the rest of their lives because he has looked at way too many during their relationship. He promises and offers her the rose!
- Just in case you didn't see the preview, DeAnna Pappas, rejected by Brad Womack will be back next week as The Bachelorette.
