  • Baby wipes are moistened cloths used to clean a baby's skin during diaper changing. They may be disposable or washable cloth.
  • Disposable Wipes

Disposable wipes are normally sold in a resealable plastic box or bag to keep them moist. The liquid to keep the wipes moist is made of mainly water, with a mild detergent, moisturizing agents, fragrance, and preservatives.
  • Washable Cloth Wipes

Any piece of cloth may work as a baby wipe. Baby washcloths are commonly used as washable wipes during diaper changes. Washable wipes may be left wet, allowing for the liquid to be sprayed directly onto the baby or they may be kept in an air tight container with the liquid. The liquid can be made in a number of formulas, commonly including water, baby soap, baby oil and tea tree oil. The tea tree oil works as an anti-bacterial agent.
