A baby girl, between six months and one year old, was left in a livery cab in Queens, New York on February 28, 2008. The man she was with asked the driver to pull over so he could make a phone call, then fled, leaving the baby, with a bag of food and clothes, on the seat of the cab. She's been transported to the hospital, where the staff has named her "Lourdes".
Update: The cab driver, Klever Sailema, was charged with filing a false report, for fabricating the entire story. He apparently made up the story to help the baby's mother and father abandon the child. The baby's mother is 14 years old, the father is 27.
