There are so many different types and styles of baby furniture needed to help care for an infant. Such items may include a cradle, a crib, a playpen, a changing table, a chest of drawers, a high chair and a glider, a walker, among other things.
Baby furniture is often handed down as an infant outgrows the item. If you acquire a used item, it is important to make sure that the item is clean, stable and meets safety standards. New safety standards are introduced as studies find concerns. Ask around, do a little research and make sure your child is completely safe and taken care of!

Choosing the Right Crib
Cribs come in many different styles and materials. Such styles include convertible cribs, cribs with canopies, round cribs and portable cribs. Convertible cribs are often chosen because they serve more than one purpose. Some convert into toddler beds while others may convert into toddler benches or day beds. Portable cribs are often chosen in order to save space if the baby's nursery is small. They are inexpensive and can be easily moved from place to place.
No matter what style of crib you choose, it is important to make sure that it meets all recommended safety standards. The slats of the crib railing should be no more than 2 3/8 inches apart and the mattress should fit snugly inside of the crib to prevent a baby's body part from getting trapped between the mattress and the crib.
