[The Walt Disney Company is offering refunds on Baby Einstein videos purchased between June 5, 2004 and September 5, 2009. These videos are eligible for $15.99 refunds for up to four DVDs per household. The DVDs must be returned to Disney.
The Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood claims that the refunds are being given as the result of a settlement between Disney and CCFC. The group claims that Disney engaged in unfair and deceptive practices in marketing the videos as educational products. Baby Einstein Toy Recall
The Walt Disney Company recalled over a half million toys on October 4, 2007, due to concerns of dangerous lead content. The toys include Baby Einstein and Pirates of the Caribbean products.- All recalled toys made in China are included in the recall. Specific products recalled include:
35,000 Baby Einstein Discover and Play Color Blocks
- 150,000 Antioch Publishing journals and accessories, and
- 79,000 Pirates of the Caribbean Medallion Squeeze Lights
