Babe

Babe is a 1995 live action film about a pig who wants to be a sheepdog. He proves that, with determination and some help from his friends, he can be anything he wants to be.

Because pigs mature quickly, 48 different pigs played the role of Babe throughout the film. Each one had false eyelashes and a toupee applied by makeup artists.

Actor James Cromwell had been a long time vegetarian for ethical reasons prior to making the film. The experience of making Babe caused him to become a vegan (someone who does not eat any animal products, including dairy and egg). Cromwell has since been active as a spokesman for both PETA and The Humane Society.
