B-Boy is a rhythm music game for the PS2 and PSP, developed by European-based FreeStyle Games and published by PlayStation parent company Sony Computer Entertainment.
Story
B-Boy, derived from the the reference to hip-hop culture, is a break-dancing game similar to Dance Dance Revolution. In the hip-hop culture, a B-Boy is someone devoted to the culture and its many aspects, including break-dancing and clothing selection. As the game represents more the culture in its own right, it does not have a definitive story line.
Gameplay
As B-Boy begins, you create your own B-Boy character to your liking and use him to do battle against the other dance characters. After you create your dancer, select either one-on-one or two-on-two battle mode and choose the character with whom you would like to battle. There are also approximately twenty levels to choose from including: subway, gymnasium, harbor, etc. The game additionally features celebrities from the actual B-Boy universe. As you progress through the game, various special moves and new clothing can be unlocked. While dancing, a circle displays around your feet and small symbols will appear. The goal is to press the shoulder buttons on the controller with the correct timing to execute the move correctly. After a few seconds, your opponent takes the floor to do the same. The player with the best performance wins the round. Winning two consecutive rounds wins the battle.
