Axis and Allies is a strategy board game in which players must win the war by capturing all major territories on the board. It is based on a World War II, set in 1942. During the game, five world powers are fighting, Germany and Japan have aligned against England, the Soviet Union, and the United States. Players control their countries economics and military, determining their fate. A revised edition has been released featuring updated plastic pieces, a detailed map, new victory conditions, and extras. Axis and Allies was awarded into the Hall of Fame by the Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Adventure Gaming Hall in 1996.
