Avatar is a 2009 movie written and directed by James Cameron, starring Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez. With its budget of $300,000,000, it is expected to be one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, and is filmed entirely in 3D. It is accompanied by a game called called James Cameron's Avatar The Game by Ubisoft.

According to movie review collection site rottentomatoes.com Avatar has an average 82% "Fresh" rating, summarizing 199 reviews, of which 164 were positive, and 35 negative. The average ratings scored 7.4/10, as of December 20, 2009. They commented: It might be more impressive on a technical level than as a piece of storytelling, but Avatar reaffirms James Cameron's singular gift for imaginative, absorbing filmmaking.http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/avatar/

Empiremovies.com was one of the first websites to post a review of Avatar. They rated the movie 8.5/10, praising its CGI, acting (at least, Sam Worthington and Stephen Lang) and use of 3D technology, but criticizing its storyline.
