Empiremovies.com was one of the first websites to post a review of Avatar. They rated the movie 8.5/10, praising its CGI, acting (at least, Sam Worthington and Stephen Lang) and use of 3D technology, but criticizing its storyline.
"I did immensely enjoy Avatar. It is an outstanding movie to watch [...] the story is decent, but it wasn’t exceptional. The characters are okay but besides Sam Worthington’s Sully, no one was very remarkable. Where this movie is head and shoulders above anything I have ever seen is in the special effects and in the imagination that it took to put it all together."http://www.empiremovies.com/2009/12/10/avatar-movie-review/
Kirk Honeycutt from "Hollywood Reporter" states "The screen is alive with more action and the soundtrack pops with more robust music than any dozen sci-fi shoot-'em-ups you care to mention."http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/film-reviews/avatar-film-review-1004052868.story
Todd McCarthy from "Variety" states: "The King of the World sets his sights on creating another world entirely in Avatar, and it's very much a place worth visiting."http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117941773.html?categoryid=31&cs=1
