    Avandia is in a class of anti-diabetic drugs called thiazolidinediones. As with any medications, Avandia works best with regular use to receive the most benefit. It can take up to two to three months for the full benefits of Avandia to take effect. Avandia needs to be taken once or twice daily with or without meals, as directed by your doctor.
