The Auto Club 500 is an annual NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race held the weekend after the Daytona 500 at Auto Club Raceway in Fontana, California.
The 2009 Auto Club 500 was held on February 22, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. PST. Matt Kenseth, who also won the opening race, the Daytona 500, won the race.ESPN.com: Kenseth bests Gordon in Auto Club 500 Brian Vickers won the pole position during qualifying on February 20, 2009. He was however forced to start at the back of the pack for the race after the engine in his car had to be replaced.
