  • Australian Rules Football, also known as Ausie Rules, Football or Footy, is an 18 player game played with a prolate spheroid ball on a large oval shaped field with four posts at each end.
  • Fast Facts:

    1. Primary aim of the game is to score by kicking the ball between posts
    2. A goal is awarded when the ball is kicked through two large goalposts
    3. Each goal is worth six points
    4. A behind, worth one point, is awarded when the ball is kicked, handballed or otherwise taken over the line between the large goalpost and the smaller post
    5. Games are officiated by umpires
    6. A player may run with the ball, but it must be bounced or touched on the ground at least once every 15 metres
    7. Length of the game is 4 quarters of 20 minutes playing time
