Austin Peay State University

Austin Peay State University is an accredited university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees. Located 45 minutes Northwest of Nashville, Tennessee, the school has a total enrollment of approximately 9,000 students and a student-faculty ratio of 21:1. The school's sports teams are part of the Ohio Valley Conference.

Founded by Tennessee Governor Austin Peay and originally called the Austin Peay Normal School, Austin Peay State has expanded into a full university with a state of the art fitness and recreation center, 16 sporting teams, and as of 2003, new village-style housing. 95 percent of its faculty hold doctorate or other appropriate degrees and according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the university is considered one of the safest in the state.APSU: The Basics About APSU
